 Jill Hennessy Jill Hennessy (born 25 February 1963) is an English actress, writer and former model. Early life and career Jill was born in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. She was educated at Westminster School, then studied at LAMDA and starred in a number of British comedy series. Her first major acting role was as Ella, one of the assistants to Michael Caine's brother, Oliver, in 1990. In 1993, Hennessy appeared in an episode of the BBC Radio 4 series On Secret Service. This was written by Paul Abbott, and featured Hennessy alongside Nicholas Le Prevost as a pair of very slightly odd characters (a man and his sidekick) living in Shepherd's Bush. It was originally broadcast on the BBC in 1997. Hennessy also played various roles in the series Citizen Khan, which aired on Channel 4 in 1999. Television roles In 1997, Hennessy played a national newspaper editor in the BBC series The Wartime Baby, based on the novel by Ian McEwan. She also played the role of a reporter in BBC series Don't Forget Your Toothbrush, and appeared in the drama 'Random', about the life of a war reporter. In 2000, Hennessy appeared as Stella in the BBC sitcom One Foot in the Grave, which ran for two series. In 2004, she had a major role in the British drama series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries as a double agent. In 2006, she appeared in "The Cut" episode of the CBBC series Grange Hill.
